DC Metering

DC meters measure voltage, current, power and energy on direct-current circuits, from rooftop PV strings and battery banks to EV chargers and DC distribution. Unlike AC meters they are rated for the DC voltage of the circuit (typically up to 1000 V) and use shunts or Hall-effect sensors to measure current in both directions.

Key Features

  • Bi-directional DC energy metering for PV, battery and EV charging

  • Voltage ratings up to 1000 V DC with shunt or Hall-effect current sensing

  • DIN rail and panel mount options

  • RS485 Modbus RTU as standard; Ethernet, WiFi, 4G and LoRaWAN on selected models

  • Revenue-grade options for EV charge-point billing

Applications
Solar PV string and array monitoring, battery energy storage charge/discharge accounting, EV charger billing, telecoms and data-centre DC distribution, and DC microgrids.

How to Choose
Start with the DC voltage and current of the circuit and pick a meter rated above both. Decide whether you need bi-directional measurement (battery or grid-tied PV) and whether the meter must be revenue-grade for billing. Then choose the communication interface - Modbus RTU for local SCADA and BMS, or Ethernet / wireless for cloud monitoring.
